Free Times 3 – Thank God I’m Free!

As we embark upon the weekend preceding the 4th
of July, I’m reminded of the fact that this holiday is
a celebration of freedom.  It denotes the time when
the colonists decided to break free from Great Britain’s
rule, regulations and taxes and declare
America an independent country free to govern and
maintain itself.

Within the Declaration of Independence, it states:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men
are created equal, that they are endowed by their
Creator with certain unalienable rights, that
among these are life, liberty and the
pursuit of
happiness.


As a Christian, I am thankful for the freedom I have in Christ Jesus.

Jesus came so that I might have life, and that more abundantly.
Because I have been made free in Him no longer and I held in
bondage to the enemy’s tricks and tactics.  I’m free to be all
God predestined me to be, even before the foundation of the world.

When the enemy thought he had my hand, God had a plan.

The liberty I have in Jesus, because of His shed blood, lets
me know that I have been made free from sickness, free from
disease (or “dis-ease”), free from fear, and free from anything that
disturbs my peace; thank God I’m drama free!

While it is true I have freedom as a Christian and as an American
citizen, I’m also thankful for my current freedom as a single believer.

As a single Christian, I am free to come and go as  I please
while answering to no one but God.  I can travel the world and
live my dreams with no one to discourage me or hold me back.
I can enjoy time with family, friends and those who truly matter
in my life, and I can ration my time any way I choose and be as
productive as I can possibly be without any hindrances,
distractions, or disturbances.

While I look forward to that great day when I shall celebrate
oneness with my spouse, I embrace the fact that I am already
whole and complete now, as a single believer, and I live life to
the fullest in the present while pursuing happiness in Christ
and all the freedoms which come right along with it.

So this Independence Day, I’d like to encourage you to celebrate
the three ways in which you’ve been made free:  Free as an
American citizen, free as a Christian, and free as a single
believer.

Hallelujah!  Thank God you’re free!

The Call To Serve

Happy Memorial Day

Today we commemorate those who served in the armed forces to help protect us and our land.

We honor them for what they did and all they sacrificed including time with family, friends and loved ones and ultimately their lives.

The same way they were called to serve, as believers you are called to serve as well.

Each day as you get dressed, pray and get ready for battle, you put on the whole armor of God.

You put on the breastplate of righteousness as you kill the flesh daily so you can remain in
right standing with Him (1 Corinthians 15:31; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

You put on the shield of faith which causes you to believe God in spite of what it looks like and in spite of how you feel.

You walk out the door wearing your helmet of salvation, which is your covering, knowing that the blood of Jesus saves you, covers you and keeps you throughout the day.

As a soldier in the army of the living God, you consistently report to your Commander in Chief, El-Elyon, aka The Most High God, for your instructions and once He gives your marching orders you move without hesitation.

No matter the test or trial and no matter the circumstance…no matter whether or not your mind can conceive a thing… you lean not on your own understanding; instead you walk by faith and not by sight. (Proverbs 3:5; 2 Corinthians 5:7)

You endure hardness as a good soldier every day reporting for duty while knowing that the battle is not yours but the Lord’s and that in the end, you win! (2 Timothy 2:23; 2 Chronicles 20:15)

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.  2 Corinthians 2:14

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;  Ephesians 6:11-18

up barriers before you even get in a situation.  You know you can’t go into a room
with the person that you’re attracted to, ya know, and expect to…to…to study the
Word of God – it ain’t gone happen, so you might as well keep it real.

‘Cuz you can’t go in there watching certain type of movies or listening
to certain type of music, and I’m talking to saved people -don’t put your
flesh under that kind of pressure –   you gotta get yourself, you know what I’m sayin’,
a way of escape.

Date with other strong couples.  Don’t date, watch this, don’t be unequally yoked,
a’ight, that means you gotta date with somebody that’s strong or stronger than
you to keep you out of compromising situations, a’ight?

And last but not least, if you get stuck run! Run! Run Ruuuun fast! a’ight
Just like a fire escape you know how like when a fire takes place you know
where all the exits are, the emergency exits?  You already know…run…alright,
because she’s too beautiful or he’s too fine for you to try to ya know think you got
that much Holy Ghost in you….uh uh…don’t do it, don’t do it…don’t put yourself
in compromising situations, a’ight?  This is C.J.,
