You Have A Partner Right Now

Marriage is a partnership.

It’s a team of two people who choose to partner up with each other for a lifetime.  They choose to walk side by side with one another as members on the same team, and not opposing forces.

Many people and even some songs proclaim how one walks with Jesus, however if one’s daily walk doesn’t reflect that of a holy, Christian lifestyle then others may question who you’re really in partnership with.

Do your actions look like that of your Father’s?

Prior to marriage, your single life should reflect a partnership as well.

During this season of oneness with God, your partner is Jesus.

Jesus is the head partner, and ultimate decision maker.

He chose you and you accepted Him in your life so that you can walk side by side in agreement with one another, and not opposing forces.  (John 15:16)

Do you love like Him, give like Him, and forgive like Him?

But you may say, “He’s God, I can never imagine being like Him!” Yet the more the read His Word and spend time in prayer, the more you actually begin to take on your Father’s characteristics and become more and more like Him every day.  (1 Peter 2:2)

The more you learn of Him, the more your partnership with one another will become more obvious to those around you.

So continue to walk with Jesus every day.

You will soon realize that with Him, you will never walk alone.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?  Amos 3:3

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.  Isaiah 41:10

Alternative Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day for Singles

“Will You Be My Valentine?” -God

I would like to propose a different perspective on this whole Valentine’s Day…instead of calling it Valentine’s Day, let’s call it a

Celebration of Love Day

Scripture says in Mark 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength; this is the first commandment.  And the second is the like, namely this Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  There is none other commandment greater than these.
I would like to share alternate ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day, or shall I say – the Celebration of Love Day, by demonstrating different ways to show your sincere love for the following 3:
1.  God

(And thou shall love the Lord thy God…)

2. Others

(…love thy neighbor…) and

3.  Self

(…as thyself…)

1.  Tangible ways to celebrate love for God on Valentine’s Day would be to double up your morning prayer time, spend time worshipping God to your favorite worship music by just loving on Him and asking nothing in return, or having what I call a “date with God” where you would have a nice dinner over candlelight and soft music and end it with reading your favorite Scripture or curled up to your favorite Christian book.
2.  Since Scripture admonishes us to love our neighbors, and when you think of neighbor you think of someone really close to you, so love on your close friend or relative.  Get a close friend or relative a Valentine’s Day card (they do make VDay cards for friends) or a bag of sweetheart candy, have a “girls night out” (but please don’t spend the night ‘male bashing’…instead use it as a night to celebrate each other and encourage each other by telling one another what you believe makes them uniquely special and wonderful)
3.  Self love.  After you’ve demonstrated love for God and others, take time out sometime today to demonstrate love for yourself.  Pamper yourself tonight with a mani-pedi (either at a shop or at home), spend some time on your favorite hobby or do the favorite thing you love to do, speak positive affirmations over yourself in the mirror – take one thing you didn’t like about yourself and turn it into a positive.  For example, if you have freckles and were teased because of them as a child, remind yourself that your freckles are God’s unique signature just for you that makes you special.  Like King David said, encourage yourself in the Lord your God and celebrate love for self today.
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

His Footprints Never Leave

I love the poem Footprints that reminds us how God never leaves us alone and how during our most trying times He carries us.

Another key to walking in victory this year is realizing that with Him you
are never alone.

As you travel through this journey called life it’s comforting to know there is someone who is there, who will be by your side at all times and who will never leave you nor forsake you – ever.

God’s love is not like man’s love.

Man love can be fickle sometimes – they love you one minute and the next minute they don’t.  One minute they say “I do” the next minute they’re wanting out.  They love you when you’re up and they barely talk to you when you’re down, or they love you as long as you keep them happy by doing what they want you to do and the first time you say, “No,” they reject you or cut you off.

God’s love, on the other hand, is unconditional.  It’s not based on your behavior which causes me, personally, to want to love Him even more by obeying His Word even more and proving my love for Him. But even with that heart intention it’s easy to still feel like God loves you as long as you do right by Him, which simply is not the case.

God loves you, just because.

God loves you with no strings attached, period.

God loves you with no conditions or expectations behind it.

He simply loves you because you are His.

He loves and wants what’s best for you always, and He wants you to draw even more closer to Him because He said as you draw nigh to Him He will draw nigh to you. (James 4:8)

He wouldn’t even fathom leaving you.  His Word explains how even if you made your bed in hell he would still be right there with you.

He would go in the muck and mire with you, watching and waiting for you so he can wipe you off and make you clean again.

He’s that Loving Father Who loves you that much.

So as you journey through this year, remember that whatsoever you do will prosper and that with Him you are never alone.
(Psalm 1:3, Hebrews 13:5)

Whether you’re on the mountaintop or in the valley, God will still be right there with you, waiting for you to come home.

O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

  Psalm 139:1-10
