The purpose of Christian dating as described in my new book, How to Date and Stay Saved, is to discover, through prayer, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and through gathering information whether or not the person you are consistently and exclusively dating has the potential to be your spouse.
One of the ways you can discover if the person you’re dating could be your spouse is by gathering information – or data.
When you think of the word dating I want to encourage you to think of the word, data.
A series of dates should consist of gathering as much information about these 3 things:
-Your date’s Past
-Your date’s Present
-Your date’s Future
You want to take the necessary time to find out about all these things while pursuing friendship before romance so you can keep a level head while deciding if this person you’re consistently dating is someone you would like to continue dating.
So think Dating, Data…
…collecting data to determine your destiny, or whether or not the two of you have a future together.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthian 2:9
