I love the poem Footprints that reminds us how God never leaves us alone and how during our most trying times He carries us.
Another key to walking in victory this year is realizing that with Him you
are never alone.
As you travel through this journey called life it’s comforting to know there is someone who is there, who will be by your side at all times and who will never leave you nor forsake you – ever.
God’s love is not like man’s love.
Man love can be fickle sometimes – they love you one minute and the next minute they don’t. One minute they say “I do” the next minute they’re wanting out. They love you when you’re up and they barely talk to you when you’re down, or they love you as long as you keep them happy by doing what they want you to do and the first time you say, “No,” they reject you or cut you off.
God’s love, on the other hand, is unconditional. It’s not based on your behavior which causes me, personally, to want to love Him even more by obeying His Word even more and proving my love for Him. But even with that heart intention it’s easy to still feel like God loves you as long as you do right by Him, which simply is not the case.
God loves you, just because.
God loves you with no strings attached, period.
God loves you with no conditions or expectations behind it.
He simply loves you because you are His.
He loves and wants what’s best for you always, and He wants you to draw even more closer to Him because He said as you draw nigh to Him He will draw nigh to you. (James 4:8)
He wouldn’t even fathom leaving you. His Word explains how even if you made your bed in hell he would still be right there with you.
He would go in the muck and mire with you, watching and waiting for you so he can wipe you off and make you clean again.
He’s that Loving Father Who loves you that much.
So as you journey through this year, remember that whatsoever you do will prosper and that with Him you are never alone.
(Psalm 1:3, Hebrews 13:5)
Whether you’re on the mountaintop or in the valley, God will still be right there with you, waiting for you to come home.
O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
Psalm 139:1-10
